Filming Diary

Date filming started: 18th of October.
Problems encountered: The problems we encountered where when trying to film in town we could not find the manager and were sent on a wild goose chase, we also encountered rain and trying to get peoples consent to filming the outside of their house. People were also hesitant to appear in our documentary.
Things we have managed to do: We got a our vox pops done in the college and have some of the montage footage edited and sorted ready to be used in our documentary, we just need to get our test filmed and 2 more interviews filmed and done.

Date Filming: 20th of October. Logging was also started on this date.
Problems encountered: we didn't have enough film footage to start capturing so we logged down what we had so we decided to check our footage for anything that may need refilming such as some of our vox pops had the wrong eye level or weren't framed right.
Things we have managed to do: although we haven't managed to finish filming we have finish logging what we had captured.

Date:31st of October, interviews rearranged
Problems encountered: we need to film our experiment, and refilm our vox pops and we rescheduled our interviews.
Things we have managed to do: reschedule our interviews.

Date:2nd or November, experiment constructed.
Problems encountered: the boxes we needed for the experiment where made and objects of what felt like a slug and rat where placed inside, we focused on the reaction of the peoples faces as they placed their hand in the box of what where the most common fears, we panned across the table showing the objects and the boxes they went inside, not many people where willing to go forth with the experiment.
Things we have managed to do: film one person willing to do experiment.

Date:9th November filming goes on.
Problems encountered: finding people who were willing to scream for our opening sequence for your documentary.
Things we have managed to do:film at least four people.

Date:13th November, more filming and refilming.
Problems encountered: we needed to refilm the college counsellor because she was looking into the camera and not at the interviewer,
Things we have done:we have replace the footage of the college counsellor with a psychiatrist from the hospital.

Date:15th November, more filming.
Problems encountered: mumbles from Ben can be heard in the background of his mums interview who is also a psychiatrist.
Things we have done: filmed another psychiatrist, Bens mum.

Date:16th November, begin capturing footage.
Problems encountered: we still needed more footage.
Things we have done: captured the footage we have filmed and cut it down in premier pro ready to be edited.

Date:20th November, more filming was done
Problems encountered:the interview with the two gamers was badly framed and they didn't take the interview seriously so we filmed another gamer who plays them often and was scared by Silent Hill when they were younger.
Things we have done: replaced the footage of the two gamers with the one gamer and had an idea of what to put on the blue screen on the background.

Date:22nd November, more filming.
Problems encountered: none.
Things we have the done: filmed more vox-pops.

Date:23rd November, more interviews arranged.
Problems we have encountered: getting the people to not just answer the question but to incorporate the question into the answer.
Things we have done: filmed two more people for interviews in front of the blue screen.

Date:24th November, more filming.
Problems encountered:the opening scene had to be refilmed as the people looking into the camera was seen as too staged and cheesy.
Things we have done:changed the people screaming to people being scared by something instead.

Editing progressed.

Date:4th December
Problems encountered: more refilming done as the first take of the reconstruction was to dark and we had to redo the voice over for the documentary and radio advert as the quality was not very good.

Running Order

This is the running order of our documentary and will be used as a checklist of sorts so we know what we have done and what we can do next, it will also help because if we can't film something on the list then we can just move down to the next item and film that instead.
